Fasting is an ancient practice that can draw you closer to God. You may fast from a pleasure or a habit. Whatever you fast from can do wonderful and unexpected things in your life and in your relationship with God.

One of God’s greatest promises is that no matter what happens, nothing can separate you from His love and protection. When you build up your spirit with this truth, your faith becomes unshakable and you become able to handle any problem with grace and strength.

God keeps his promises. Throughout the Old Testament, whenever His people fell into trouble, God restored them and delivered on His promises. He will do the same for you.

If you are experiencing a time of sorrow or distress, offer your suffering to God. Ask for His peace. With prayer, grief can be transformed into empathy, understanding and compassion.

Take a moment and search your heart to see if you are being completely honest with yourself and with God. Spell out any shortcomings or frustrations. Ask Him to help you reveal what you might need to heal or forgive.

Max Lucado said, “God loves us too much to indulge our every whim.” If you want clarity and purpose in your life, pray this bold prayer: “God, I put my life in Your hands. I trust Your guidance. I leave the outcome to You.” Be ready to feel calm and confident knowing that you are on a divine journey.

Do you have a fixed idea of what the future holds? Instead of having your mind set on your plans, be open to what the Holy Spirit is conveying. Be attentive to opportunities He will bring your way. Is there someone whose burden you might lessen? Keep your eyes and your heart open!
