You Complete Me

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.—Philippians 2:3-4 (NIV)

Insecurities can lead a person to hold on too tightly—to relationships, jobs and possessions. Worrying over a loss robs you of enjoying the moment and can make you selfish and possessive. God intended for us to have a full life, one that is not full of fear and need—but one that is filled with His pure love.

Heavenly Father, I come to You with an open heart. Heal my vulnerable places so that I am secure and complete.

Strength from the Struggle

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.—Romans 5:3–4 (NIV)

In the above verse, Paul shares that trials, suffering and pain help refine your soul. When you are in the midst of a painful experience, recognize that God is with you, helping you overcome your circumstances and filling you with hope so that you may move forward.

Lord, I need Your help. Stay with me and help me through this.

A Time to Trust

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.—PsaLm 37:5 (NIV)

somEtimEs GoD’s HanD is evident, but do you trust the daily guidance of the unseen hand of God in your life? When you feel alone and become filled with doubt, pray. Believe that God holds every detail of your life safely in His hands, because He does.

Dear Lord, replace my worry with Your peace. Lead me to rest safely in Your arms.

Never Too Late

Then God said, “Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.”—Genesis 17:19 (NIV)

In this scripture, what began as a sarcastic laugh transformed into joy when Sarah’s long-unanswered prayer was finally realized. Is there a desire that you’ve almost given up on? One that, if met, would fill you with disbelief? It’s never too late. Have faith and celebrate the God of miracles.

Miraculous God, I trust You know just what I need— exactly when I need it.

Stay on Track

Your statutes are wonderful; therefore I obey them.—Psalm 119:129 (NIV)

At one time or another, you might turn away from God’s guidance and the teaching of His Word. Yet you know deep in your heart that your life has purpose and order when you follow His instructions. If you feel yourself drifting from Him, remind yourself of the joy that comes from staying connected.

Gracious God, give me a wise and discerning heart. Help me to stay on track.

Future Blessings

Then Hannah prayed: My heart rejoices in the Lord. My strength rises up in the Lord! My mouth mocks my enemies because I rejoice in your deliverance.—1 Samuel 2:1 (CEB)

Even when it seems your prayers go unanswered, God’s grace is still operating in your life. Instead of feeling down or doubting His help, offer up praise of thanksgiving for blessings to come. Trust that God is faithful and always has your best interest at heart.

Lord, I know that You hear my prayers and that they are always answered according to Your will.

The Highest Form

Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.—1 Corinthians 11:1 (NKJV)

God has called you to share His love with others. Just as the apostle Paul was placed in communities to help them experience His divine kindness, you, too, are called to help others on their faith journeys. Be a beacon—show others the way.

Heavenly Father, I long to be more like You.

Acknowledge God

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.—Psalm 91:11–12 (NIV)

In the above verse, the devil misquotes scripture to tempt Jesus, deliberately leaving out “to keep you in all your ways.” it has been said that this exemption is a faith-filled lesson—as followers of God, we must acknowledge Him in all our ways, and He will direct and protect us.

Heavenly Father, I know that You are supporting me, even when my fears try to convince me I am alone on my journey.

The Burden of the Word

The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi.—Malachi 1:1 (NKJV)

The name Malachi means “my messenger.” This verse shows the responsibility of carrying the weight of God’s message. Being a follower of God isn’t a burden; it is a testament to the importance of the message that His servants carry.

Lord, I willingly hold Your messages deep in my heart and will follow Your guiding Word. I understand the great importance You hold in my life.

Abundant Blessings

Do you believe God has blessed you abundantly? What do those words mean to you? Your answer is uniquely yours, and no matter where you are in your life, no matter the problems you face, you can always reflect on the abundant blessings you have right now.

Lord, sometimes I get bogged down by small problems and completely overlook my many blessings.
