Partner with God

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.—John 15:5 (NKJV)

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale said, “Have tremendous expectations and believe in them.” God has planted dreams into your heart that require work and faith to blossom. But remember, the dream is not the goal—the process of becoming and making the journey with God is the true purpose.

Heavenly Father, I am a work in Your hands.

God’s Love Is Always There

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.—Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)

Jesus is always the same. Whether your heart is filled with love or sorrow, He is your steady presence and support. It’s inevitable that life changes—there will be good days and bad—but Jesus is always the same.

Lord, thank You for Your unchanging goodness and grace. You steady my life and fill me with hope.

Awakening to Awe

And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps.—Revelation 14:2 (NIV)

You don’t have to be on vacation to experience the natural wonder of God’s glory. You can see Him every day in the twinkling night sky, the dew on the morning grass, the sunlight through the clouds. Celebrate His majesty!

Dear Lord, You have created a world filled with awe and beauty.

Love Prepares the Way

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!—2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

God is preparing your way with love. The next time you are faced with a big change, let this fact sink in: You are not on this journey alone. He is preparing the way.

Lord, when I am tempted to recoil from change, guide me to remember—all change is fueled by Your love.

Keeping It Simple

The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.—1 Kings 19:11 (NIV)

It’s not always easy to listen to God’s whispers of guidance and have faith in the outcome. Our human nature causes us to question why and want to solve the problem our own way. When you are in need of His guidance, don’t rely solely on your own thinking. Pray for the clarity to hear and follow His will.

Lord God, life isn’t as complicated as I sometimes make it. Help me follow Your direction and stay on course.

Overflowing Love

As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.—Proverbs 27:19 (NIV)

When we face adversity, Jesus wants His love and hope to spill out of us. The only way this can happen is if we draw close to Him. His love fills us to overflowing and changes the way we respond to life and those around us.

Dear Jesus, fill me so that I am overflowing with Your love and hope.

The Center of Life

I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.—Galatians 2:20 (NIV)

There is nothing to worry about. All you have to do is keep your eyes on Jesus. Just put one foot in front of the other and follow Him. There is no need to doubt or be discouraged. Trust Him.

Heavenly Father, when I am overcomplicating my life, help me center myself on You.

Ever-Increasing Glory

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.—2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV)

When you hold onto God, He delivers you. He casts out the darkness with His brightness; He will transform your spirit. Praise Him for the miraculous work He is performing in your life.

Lord, my heart is full of Your glory.

Make Me More Like You

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.—1 John 3:2 (NIV)

You are a work in progress. Share with God that you strive to be like Him and to please Him in every aspect of your life. Read His Word and pour out your heart to Him. Be patient with yourself; your spiritual growth is a lifelong process.

Gracious God, You are the Potter and I am the clay.

Give It to God

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.—Colossians 3:2 (NIV)

Is something bothering you? Loosen your grip and know that He is with you now wanting to help. Open up and let Him in. Recognize that His ways may be beyond your understanding. Your relationship is based on loving faith.

Dear Lord, help me let go and let You take over.

Power of Gratitude

From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.—Psalm 113:3 (NIV)

Choose Your Influence

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.—Philippians 4:8 (ESV)

This Scripture advises you to guard your mind by fixing your thoughts on things worthy of your time. Whenever an undesirable thought or temptation enters your mind, use this verse to think about Jesus and that He is true, honorable, just, pure and lovely.

Lord God, may all my thoughts be pleasing to You.
