In the Darkness

The engulfing waters threatened me, the deep surrounded me… but you, Lord my God, brought my life up from the pit. When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you.—Jonah 2:5–7 (NIV)
Imagine Jonah, in the darkness, inside the belly of the great fish, with seemingly no way to escape. His future looked hopeless, and yet God delivered Him. When you feel enveloped by the darkness, focus on His promises. He is the Light.
Almighty Lord, like Jonah, I know You will always bring me up from the pit. I know You won’t forget me.
