The Miracle of His Love

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.—1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV)
A beautiful benefit of praying for others is that the act itself increases your own faith. When you open your heart to intercede for another’s needs, you experience God’s unlimited power. Not only do you deepen your faith, but you share His glorious riches.
Dear God, I feel so connected to You when I participate in the miracle of Your love.

Feel God’s Presence

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.—Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)
Georges Lefebvre said, “Prayer is an end to isolation. It is living our daily life with Someone; with Him who alone can deliver us from solitude.” Although God is ever-present, it is consistent prayer that enables us to feel His presence.
Lord, You are so good to me! Because of You I never need to feel alone.

Prayer to Calm Anxiety

“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”—Psalm 55:22 (NIV)
Worry can wreak havoc on your emotions, making it so you can’t concentrate, eat or even sleep. If you find yourself overcome with unnerving thoughts, turn to God in prayer. Ask Him to replace your anxious thoughts with peace and to reassure you that everything will work out for the best.
Heavenly Father, when I am caught in an endless cycle of worry, guide my thoughts back to You. I know that You alone will keep me safe.

Perfect Weakness

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.—2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
When Paul suffered from a thorn in his flesh and asked God to help him by removing it, God responded with the above Scripture. We all experience painful and difficult times, but we must learn to push through with the help of God’s strength.
Lord, in moments of weakness, strengthen me with Your power.

Your Best Defense

For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.—Deuteronomy 20:4 (NIV)
When you are trying to overcome a bad habit and feel as if you are facing utter defeat, turn to Jesus and say, “I doubt I can do this, but I know that You can.” Identify the enemy that is causing you harm, whether it’s an unhealthy diet, too much social media or negative self-talk, and know that God can bring victory.
Lord God, please help me battle my negative thoughts and actions. I know that with Your help I can succeed.

Wherever You Go

I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.—Genesis 28:15 (NIV)
God promises to watch over you wherever you go. His presence is constant. If something has happened that causes you to worry that He has abandoned you, reflect on people in the Bible who experienced the same feeling: Jacob, Noah, Abraham, Moses and Samson to name a few. God is with you even when you doubt His presence. He offers guidance and peace. He always keeps His promises.
Lord, You are my refuge and strength. I have nothing to fear.

His Goodness Shines

So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.—Genesis 1:21 (NIV)
Everything God made reflects His goodness. When you are focused on your own flaws or feeling down about the world and your circumstances, reflect on the wonders of God’s creation and know that His goodness shines in you, too.
Creator God, change my perspective so that I see Your beauty in all my experiences.

God Is Still in Control

The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. May he not leave us or forsake us.—1 Kings 8:57 (ESV)
When life takes an unexpected turn and you feel lost and bewildered by your circumstances, turn to God. He will never leave you. You are not lost. You are exactly where you are supposed to be—in the comfort of His presence.
Dear Lord, You are always with me, and because of this truth I am never alone or lost.

The Joy of Faith

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.—Psalm 30:5 (NIV)
What brings you joy? Is it a beautiful sunrise? The laughter of a loved one? Today, take a moment and reflect on the many gifts of grace that God has given you. Often we focus so much on our worries that we neglect to see what is certain and constant—His many blessings. Remind yourself that no matter what you are going through, as Psalm 30 promises, “joy comes in the morning.”
Heavenly Father, my joy is knowing that I can trust Your promises to always lift my spirits.

You Will Not Fall

As it is written: “See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.—Romans 9:33 (NIV)
If you seek God through your own works you will stumble, but if you faithfully rely on Him, you will experience righteousness and salvation. God offers you His grace and His Word. Trust in Jesus and you will not fall.
Our Heavenly Father, You have my heart. Through faith and humble reliance upon You I will not stumble.

His Peace in Your Heart

The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.—I Peter 4:7 (NIV)
When you are angry, instead of harboring resentment and rehashing what happened, pray. Ask God to calm your feelings and soothe your heart with His perfect peace. Lay your frustrations at His feet.
My Heavenly Father, may Your goodness and serenity live in my heart.

Wait in Faith

Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.—Psalm 37:7 (NIV)
Sometimes when our prayers seem to go unanswered, we get frustrated—or worse, accuse God of not caring. In times of despair and doubt, pray more. Ask God to help you control your impatience with Him. Believe that He is working on your behalf for the best outcome.
Heavenly Father, help me to wait in faith, knowing that You are in control of every circumstance.
