His Handiwork

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.—Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
God has prepared moments and situations that will help you grow and become your best. Trials will strengthen you. Doubts will encourage you to question and deepen your faith. Rejoice! You are His masterpiece, an instrument of His grace.
Heavenly Father, today I will focus on the truth that I am the work of Your hand. You have created me to do good works.

Praise for the Present

O Lord, open my lips, that my mouth may declare Your praise.—Psalm 51:15 (AMP)
Today, be present as you reflect on Christ’s birth. Praise God for this very moment. Search your heart for blessings that you may be taking for granted. The more you praise God for His goodness, the more prosperous and blessed your life will become.
Dear Lord, Your goodness is greater than I can imagine. I’m grateful for so many things, and I know that You provided them all.

He Weeps with You

When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. Jesus wept.—John 11:33–35 (NIV)
In times of loss, remind yourself that you are not alone. God knows what it feels like to grieve. After Lazarus died, when Jesus saw Martha, He was deeply upset, and He wept. When you are in the depths of sorrow, offer your pain to Jesus, know that He weeps with you.
Heavenly Father, one day You will wipe every tear from my eyes.

Let His Spirit Lead

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.—Matthew 7:7 (NIV)
Wherever you are in your faith journey, know that God is right there with you. In the middle of life’s challenges, He can help. He will meet you in the moment and lead you in the right direction.
Heavenly Father, I want to be a person of the Word, walking in wisdom, trust and love.

Ask Yourself

Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”—Mark 4:40 (NLT)
When you are fearful of the future, reread the two questions that Jesus asked in this verse. He is with you, guiding your path and helping you move forward. Release your fears and hold on to your faith, knowing that His presence is always available to comfort you.
Dear Lord, help me to conquer my fear so that I can live the joy-filled life You intend for me.

Feed Your Spirit

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”—John 6:35 (NIV)
The best spiritual self-care practice is devoting time to your faith journey. In the same way that you need daily nourishment to feed your body, you must spend time with Jesus to keep your spirit healthy and strong. When Jesus says, “I am the Bread of Life,” He is telling you that He can satisfy the deepest longings of your soul.
Lord, You are the manna that sustains me in the desert of my daily life.

Practice Daily Gratitude

Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.—Psalm 103:2 (NLT)
Developing a daily habit of recognizing things you are thankful for is vital for your spiritual health. When you appreciate the good things, you feel hopeful about the future. Even in tough times, when challenges seem overwhelming—if you look closely, you can find God’s blessings.
Lord, I am content with what I have and trust You to take care of the future.

Rely on God’s Help

“When I want to do good, I don’t; and when I try not to do wrong, I do it anyway.”—Romans 7:19 (TLB)
Is there an inner battle that you are carrying alone? Turn to God to help you overcome your problem. He knows your personal struggles. His grace will help strengthen your confidence and give you hope and faith to help you carry on.
Lord of Mercy, forgive me for trying to handle everything on my own. I am ready for Your help.

Grow a Forgiving Heart

You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.—Psalm 86:5 (NIV)
Do you follow Jesus’ example and strive to forgive others and release grudges you have against those who have harmed you? By opening your heart to forgiveness, you heal the hurt that lives inside you, and can draw closer to God, the true source of joy and love.
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of forgiveness, which sets me free from the pain of the past and opens up a future that is filled with Your glory.

God’s Wondrous Works

And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.—2 Kings 6:17 (NIV)
In the above verse, the servant’s eyes are opened to another realm, and he sees God’s mighty army protecting them. As your faith grows, your “spiritual vision” will become more transparent, and you will be able to clearly see God working in your life and the lives of those around you.
Lord, help us to have spiritual eyes so we may see Your wondrous works.

See His Light

As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.—Acts 9:3 (NIV)
In this verse, Saul had an incredible experience that changed him from persecuting early Christians to following Christ. How has God changed your heart? Reflect on a past experience when He revealed His light of truth to you.
Lord, thank You for helping me to see Your truth and to follow Your guidance today, tomorrow and always.

Less Judging, More Loving

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.—Proverbs 3:3 (NIV)
It happens to the best of us—we make rush judgments about people based on wrong information or an unpleasant first impression. The next time you are about to discount someone, reflect on this verse and focus on seeing Christ in them.
Dear God, help me to be less critical and more loving. Guide me to approach others with compassion, patience and love.
