Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.—Genesis 9:16 (NIV)
“Why are there so many songs about rainbows?” is a question posed in a popular children’s song written by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher. Rainbows make us stop and take in the pure majesty of beauty in the sky. More importantly, they remind us of God’s promise to Noah to never destroy the earth by flood again.
Lord, thank You for the many ways you connect us to the triumph of mercy and the victory of grace.
