This is a hard update to write. Since my last blog, the diagnosis of kidney cancer became official for my husband.
So while I have been stressed and full of tears, I have a huge family of support to rely on and immediately asked for prayers from them. I can feel God wrap his loving arms of support around me through the prayers offered. It is times like this when something so intangible as faith becomes tangible.
I started my weight-loss journey at the same time I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had anticipated the diagnosis so I used that as motivation to get started eating healthier. It has taken me more than two years to lose more than 60 pounds.
During the tough times on my cancer journey my weight-loss goal was to just maintain and my goal is the same with my husband’s cancer journey. I have lost the 2.5 pounds I had gained over the Christmas holidays, and know I will lose the few remaining pounds. What is amazing to me is that because it has taken me so long to lose those 60+ pounds, due to those periods of maintaining, I am having an easier time of keeping the weight off.
Thank you for listening!
