Joshua Becker, author of The More of Less, wrote: “I once heard the story of a man who walked into a travel agency and requested information for a cruise. ‘Where to?’ he was asked. ‘I’m not really sure,’ was his reply. The agent handed him a map of the world and proceeded to unfold it front of him.
“The customer took a good look at the map examining it from a number of angles. Finally, with a look of frustration, he looked up at the agent and exclaimed, ‘Is this all you have to offer?’ So many times we ask, ‘Is there more to life?’”

After 20 plus years of working at corporate America, a colleague of mine decided it was time for a change. Although the money and benefits were great, she knew that her life was lacking purpose and meaning. She pursued a logical path, but in spite of the promotions, bonuses and status, she felt empty. Her unquenchable thirst took her down an endless road. She was left spiritually unsatisfied even though she had all the symbols of success.
Today she works at a faith-based non-profit. The perks, money and benefits are not as great and at times this makes her question going back, but then she remembers the futility of chasing the wind.
Many times we travel far down a road looking for what we thought we always wanted, but then realize that we have been chasing the wind. We pursue what seems to be a logical path, only to find ourselves disappointed, empty and looking for answers.
Someone once wrote, “When you stop chasing the wrong things. You give the right things a chance to catch you.” Do you agree? Please share with us.
Eternal God, give me the courage to examine the path that I am on, and if necessary, to change course of direction with Your help.
