[MUSIC PLAYING] Do you ever have that time when you’re praying, and you’re concentrating on one thing, and what comes in your head are all those things you hope to do– wishes, dreams, things you want accomplished today, things tomorrow, things in five years, places you’d like to be, a person you’d like to be? Well, I think those kind of dreams can be a part of your prayer. And I think it’s worth really working on it.
A friend of mine, Neil, he believes you should write them all down. Just take some time and put down on a piece of paper all the different dreams you have for yourself. And then fold it up, put in a place like your wallet, put it on your desk, put in your top drawer, and you will keep using that in your prayer life. But sometimes you won’t even remember it, and a year, two years later, three years later, something will happen. You’ll go, wow, that was one of those things I promised to pray about.
I remember when my son– this was years ago, before he was born– and I was painting a bureau and I was putting all the letters of the alphabet on it. And I put a few words on it– “cat,” “dog”– and I was thinking someday I’m going to have a kid– I didn’t even know it was going to be boy– I can imagine reading those words. A couple of years later, he was there and we were in the bedroom playing. And he looked and he said C-A-T, cat. Well, that’s kind of like what you do with your dreams. You put them in your prayer life. You work on them. Sometimes you forget about them. And then you find that they all came true. It’s not so hard, but try it. [MUSIC PLAYING]
