Amen for His Glory

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.—2 Corinthians 1:20 (NIV)

God is always faithful. He will never break a promise, leave or forsake you. When you put your faith in God, the answer is always yes. Rejoice! He will always be true to His promises.

“Amen—so be it!” for His glory.

Don’t Worry!

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?—Matthew 6:25 (NIV)

On stressful days, you might feel as if no one understands what you’re going through. Remind yourself that you are not alone. Jesus said to take heart. He has overcome the world. His presence helps you rise from worldly problems that weigh you down. His glorious victory can change and transform every moment of your life.

Heavenly Father, I claim Your peace. You are in control.

God Works Through Trials

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.—James 1:2-3 (NIV)

Whatever trial you are going through, know there is something to be gained. Times when you can’t see your way out of a problem are actually the best times to trust and believe. Know that there is nothing too hard, painful or devastating that Jesus does not identify with. When you bring your suffering to Him in prayer, He feels your pain as you feel His comfort.

Lord Jesus, on days when I feel tested, I can go on because You are with me.

Kind Words

Being strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy.—Colossians 1:11 (ESV)

How often do you tell the people in your life how much you appreciate them? God wants you to be joyful and enlighten others with His joy by being kind and patient and showing your appreciation and love. Make a list of your loved ones and make a commitment to let them know how much you care. When you tell someone how much they mean to you, you receive an unexpected boost of love and joy yourself!

Dear God, thank You for Your true contentment that inspires me to live generously.

God’s Will Power

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness.—2 Peter 1:5-6 (NIV)

This time of year can test your self-control, whether it’s a decadent dessert that threatens your diet or overspending on the holiday season. A large part of self-control is about will power or more specifically, “God’s will” power. By focusing on Him and asking for His help and strength you can stand firm when you feel tempted.

Lead me today, Lord, into Your Light and away from my temptation.

The Blessing of a Fruitful Life

The seed that fell among the thorns represents others who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.—Mark 4:18–19 (NLT)

As you prepare for Thanksgiving, thank God for giving you a fruitful life. Because of Him, you can let go of fear and worry and find true contentment. When you make Him the center of your life, you experience the true essence of living.

Heavenly Father, thank You for guiding me to see what truly matters so that I experience the blessing of bearing fruit that will last.

God’s Perfect Love

I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose for me.—Psalm 57:2 (ESV)

It may be hard to believe, but Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Sometimes the details of family gatherings—planning the meals, shopping, or making travel arrangements—take center stage and we fret over making everything perfect. Don’t worry. Everything always gets done, and instead of trying to make everything perfect, focus on your love of God and your family and friends.

Heavenly Father, You love me perfectly! If I get caught up in worrying and planning, bring my focus back to where it belongs, on love.
