Say Yes to Grace

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.—Micah 6:8 (NIV)
The Bible is filled with unlikely heroes—flawed people who are transformed by their faith. The more you say, “Yes!” to God and open your heart to doing His work on earth, the more your life will be transformed by His grace.
Lord, I am here, and I say yes to receiving Your love and spreading Your light here on earth.

Wrestling with God

Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”—Genesis 32:28 (NIV)
Jacob needed to escape the wrongdoings of his past. He began the night upset and fearful of tomorrow—yet after wrestling with God he was blessed with a new  destiny. When you are struggling with God, know that He will bless you. He will bring you peace.
Dear Lord, in the words of Jacob, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

Your Hope Is His Word

You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.—Psalm 119:114 (NIV)
When you pray, God shelters you from harm. His Word is your hope. Place yourself under His shield, and know that nothing else can fulfill or comfort you as He does.
Protector God, I trust You and know that You are sovereign and good.

Manage Your Emotions

“Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.”—Matthew 26:34 (NIV)
Emotions can be tricky, and sometimes our feelings deceive us. In the above verse, despite Peter’s knowledge, he let his emotions get the better of him. He denied Jesus despite pledging his loyalty. Peter’s weakness took control. If your emotions are leading you down the wrong path, pray and ask God to help set you straight.
Dear Lord, when my feelings are ruling my life, help me to turn back to You and Your guidance.

Flawless Faith

In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction?—James 2:25 (NIV)
God often uses flawed people for His most miraculous work. Rahab was an outcast, but through her faith she turned her life around and became a hero. Her strong belief in God led her to overcome the circumstances of her past and become a woman of influence.
Lord, when I feel lost or unworthy, let me look to examples like Rahab. Help me shine Your light.

The Sting of Rejection

“The one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me.”—Luke 10:16 (ESV)
Jesus knew that many people would not believe Him. That they would be too blinded by their sins or beliefs to hear His Word as truth. If you ever feel rejected by others, try not to take it to heart. Instead, focus on Jesus.
Dear God, when people reject me, help me to turn the other cheek; to give them grace upon grace, and love them as You love me.

No Regrets

See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.—Isaiah 65:17 (NIV)
The prophet Isaiah shares that all of your wrongdoings—anything that you have worried that God would not accept—will ultimately not be remembered. Whatever regrets you are holding on to, turn them over to God and allow Him to sweep them away with His grace.
Lord, thank You for reminding me that love keeps no records of wrongs. I am ready for a fresh start, free of my former sins. My heart is open and ready to be filled with Your love.

Jesus Is True Joy

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.—Psalm 5:11 (NIV)
Happiness is often thought to be tied to your circumstances, but real joy is having a relationship with Jesus. Your faith will see you through even the most challenging times. In difficult moments, look for the places where you find deep abiding joy.
You are my Savior. Help me to always keep You close. True joy is found in You.

Clear Your Mind, Fill Your Heart

For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.—Isaiah 41:13 (NIV)
When you are overwhelmed by your circumstances, remind yourself that God did not give you a spirit of fear, but one of love. Instead of feeling powerless, turn to His Word. Do not fear; He will help you. Trust Him to give you the grace to persevere. Thank Him for being an ever-present help.
Dear Lord, when I let life’s challenges upset me, clear my mind and fill me with Your power.

Accept One Another

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”—Galatians 5:14 (NIV)
Often in relationships , difficulties arise because we want people to behave in a certain way. But when we let go of these expectations and accept people as they are, we open our hearts to feel the love that flows between us.
Lord, help me to accept others as they are—and to love them as You love me.
